Find your care · Elbow

My elbow hurts, or my ring finger is numb.

The elbow carries the funny bone nerve, the biceps anchor and the forearm tendons. Problems here are often felt in the hand as much as the elbow.

Where the Pain Comes From

The ulnar nerve runs in a shallow groove behind the elbow and stretches every time the elbow bends.Pressure or repetitive bending irritates it. The distal biceps tendon anchors to the forearm bone and can tear under a sudden eccentric load.Tendon irritation on the outside or inside of the elbow is tennis or golfer elbow and usually responds to non-operative care.
