What Patients Tell Us

Sports Injury

A pop and a swollen knee within hours after planting and cutting.
A shoulder that came out and went back in and now does not feel trusted. A sudden kick to the back of the ankle with nobody behind you.Or the slower version: a shoulder that aches after every throwing session, a knee that swells after every long run, a hip that pinches at the bottom of every squat.

Where the Pain Comes From

Acute injuries tear structures: ligaments, labrum, meniscus, tendons.Overuse injuries inflame them. Both respond to accurate diagnosis first. MRI is not always needed, and surgery is not always the answer. Our sports medicine surgeons trained at programs that care for professional and collegiate athletes. Dr. Christensen trained under Dr. James Andrews. Dr. Wallentine has served as a team surgeon for BYU athletics. Dr. Johnson was a collegiate team physician for seventeen years.
